Religion Notebook: Vacation Bible school at Northwood

Northwood Presbyterian Church, 6721 N. Monroe St., will present Rocky Point Lighthouse vacation Bible school July 14 and 15.

The weekend will start July 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes lunch. July 15 will have activities from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Children who have just finished first through sixth grades are invited to attend.

The program is free, but registration is required by July 8. Late registrations may be taken, if space allows.

Adult short story group

Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline St., will present “Listening for God in the Park,” an adult short story discussion group which will meet at 10 a.m. starting Tuesday at Manito Park.

The group will discuss stories from the anthology, “God: Stories,” by C. Michael Curtis and copies of the book are available for purchase at the church for $6.
