Injury accident near Colfax

A car making a left turn in front of another car caused an injury accident on Highway 26 about three miles west of Colfax just before 9 a.m. this morning. Two people were injured in the accident, according to a press release from the Washington State Patrol. A 1998 Toyota Corolla driven by Erica Moreno, 20, of Yakima was heading north on Airport Road and making a left turn on Highway 26. A 2006 Chevy Tahoe pulling a trailer was going east on Highway 26 and collided with Moreno, according to the press release. The driver of the Tahoe, identified as Robert H. Squires, 55, of Hood River, Ore., was not injured. A passenger in Moreno’s car, 22-year-old Ernesto F. Lopez of Yakima, was injured and taken to Colfax Hospital. Moreno was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center. Both cars were totaled in the collision.
