MOBLEY, Alfred “Dale”
(Age 91)

Passed away on November 3, 2012 in Spokane, WA.

Dale was born on April 12, 1921 in Fallon, NV to Rubyn and Alice Mobley.


He met Mary his wife on a blind date when he was on leave from the Marine Corp. Mary was a “Rosie the Riveter” for Lockheed in Burbank, CA.

They wrote letters for two years and became engaged by mail.


They were married on December 16, 1944 for 67 years.

Dale worked as an airplane mechanic after his discharge from the Marine Corp and received training to become a flight engineer for Flying Tiger Airlines.

They lived in Southern California until 1958 when they moved north to Sunnyvale, CA.

He retired in 1981.

They moved to Mead, WA in 1992 and lived in the Pinewood Hills area.

In 2009 they moved to Fairwinds Retirement Community.
They loved to travel.

Visited most of the United States in their motor home and traveled to the Orient, Sweden, and England as well as other countries.


He is survived by wife Mary; three children Linda Kelsey (Allan), Karen Heppler (Peter), Greg Mobley (Susan); thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Mobley (Marge).


He was preceded in death by his parents, Rubyn and Alice Mobley, brother, Glen Mobley, and sister, Nelda Lalka (Herb).

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 9, 2012, at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 3720 E. Colbert Rd., Colbert, WA.
