Drive-by shooting at Swaxx’s Bar

High speed chase follows

Witnesses said two black men fired handguns while yelling their gang affiliation outside Swaxx’s Bar in north Spokane shortly after 1:30 a.m. today. The men were in an older black Chevrolet Caprice, according to a police department press release. As police officers were on their way to the bar, a Washington State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a speeding older black Chevrolet Caprice that was heading south on Nevada near Lyons. The Caprice hit speeds of 95 miles per hour and drove through a yard at Nevada and Queen while trying to turn the corner, the press release said. The WSP Trooper arrested the passenger and the driver ran away on foot. Witnesses identified the car and the passenger as being involved in the drive-by shooting at the bar. Glenn Anderson, 28, was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of drive-by shooting. The other man involved has not been found. He is described as being about 20 to 30 years old and slender. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
