Kravitz to portray Gaye in new movie

From Wire Reports

Lenny Kravitz has signed on for his first leading film role, playing singer Marvin Gaye in a biopic that will be shot next year.

The rocker’s publicist Carleen Donovan confirmed the news Tuesday. Kravitz has played supporting roles in the past, including a small part in “The Hunger Games.”

Rolling Stone reported the “Are You Gonna Go My Way” singer will portray Gaye during the 1980s when he was fighting his addictions and attempting to restart his career. Gaye died in 1984 after being shot by his father.

Conservative radio voice silenced

Radio talk show host Laura Ingraham is off the air – at least temporarily.

She said Tuesday that she’s leaving her distributor, Talk Radio Network, after more than nine years because her contract is up. Ingraham said she is in discussions with other distributors about her show, which currently airs on 325 stations nationally.

Talkers magazine said the conservative Ingraham is the most-listened to woman on radio, with an estimated 5.75 million listeners a week.

Wild Katt performance draws lawsuit

Comic Katt Williams is being sued over his onstage meltdown and aborted performance in Oakland, Calif.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported it’s the second Alameda County lawsuit filed over Williams’ bizarre 10 minutes on stage earlier this month at Oakland’s Oracle Arena.

The suit says fans were disappointed when Williams took off his clothes and challenged people to fight. The Williams meltdown came two days after he was arrested on charges of attacking an aspiring rapper on his tour bus. He was later released with no charges filed.

Accused Baldwin stalker jailed

A Canadian actress accused of stalking Alec Baldwin has been locked up again.

New York City police detectives arrested Genevieve Sabourin at a Manhattan courthouse Tuesday after she apparently violated a restraining order.

Baldwin and Sabourin met on the set of the 2002 comedy “The Adventures of Pluto Nash.”

A judge had ordered Sabourin to stay away from Baldwin following her arrest earlier this year on harassment charges. Recent news reports said she had been tweeting angry comments about the “30 Rock” star’s new wife.
