Obituary: Keeling, Carroll “Jim”

KEELING, Carroll “Jim” (Age 80) Jim was born February 9, 1932 in Mica, WA to Jackson Carroll Keeling and Edna Charlotte Carpenter.

Jim married Joyce Brooks in 1950.

Together, they raised three girls in the Spokane Valley.

Jim worked for the Spokane Valley Fire Dept.

District 1 for 23 years until he retired as a Battalion Chief in 1982.

He enjoyed his work and loved spending time with family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife Joyce; three daughters and their husbands, Sandi and Gordy Oberst, Kathi and Denny Lydeen, and Cheri and John Warren; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial celebrating Jim’s life will be Friday, November 30th from 1-3 p.m. at the Valley Eagles.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Valley Fire Department Employees Scholarship Fund.
