Guv Taking Input On Mansion

The public gets its first chance to formally weigh in on the future of Idaho’s governor’s mansion, the prominent hilltop abode that’s unoccupied but costing the state hundreds of thousands annually to mow, water and maintain. The state holds a hearing on Tuesday afternoon starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Idaho Capitol. The idea is to gauge Idaho residents’ sentiment about the mansion, which was donated in 2004 to the state by potato mogul J.R. Simplot. So far, Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter has refused to live in it/ AP .
