Obituary: Bross, Rosamae Pearl

Rosie, age 87 years young, passed away on October 2, 2012 at Sullivan Park Care Center, Spokane Valley, WA.

Rosie was born September 9, 1925 to Dwight and Grace Carter, in Sheridan, WY.

She was the oldest of nine children, (five brothers, and three sisters).

Rosie left Sheridan, WY at an early age traveling by wagon to Yakima, WA where after her schooling went to work for Birds-Eye Foods, she also worked at Yakima Cannery.

In 1942 Rosie moved to Spokane, WA.

In August of 1945 she met Otto on the Monroe Street Bridge.

The two of them would see each other as often as possible, and would go dancing at Nat Park.

They enjoyed four months together then in December Otto was sent to New Jersey to be discharged from the Army Air Corp. Otto and Rosie corresponded from December 1945 to December 1949, then Otto came by bus from Philadelphia and they were married on December 17, 1949.

After getting married they lived at King Arthurs Court Motel for 6 months, (they had nothing of their own) the manager gave them everything they needed to make a home.

Rosie worked at Ray-Max making ribbons for horse shows.

She loved to make afghans for her children, grandchildren and various charities.

Rosie loved to play bingo, dance at Valley Eagles, and go bowling.

She also loved birds and all types of animals!

Rosie is survived by “The love of her life” her husband Otto of 63 years, her sons Ron Bross (Rhonda) of Cottonwood, CA; Terry Bross (Kathie) of Millwood, WA and Larry Bross of Spokane Valley, WA and her daughter, Pam Edwards of Spokane, WA.

Rosie is also survived by her nine grandchildren and her 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday October 12, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel 1400 S. Pines Rd.

Spokane Valley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 13, 2012 at 11:00am at Thornhill Valley Chapel.

There will be a Graveside service Monday October 15, 2012 at 2:00pm.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Valley Hospital and Sullivan Park Care Center for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the charity of your choice.

Please, feel free to wear bright and sunny clothes to celebrate Momma.
