Obituary: Weber, Evelyn

Age 82

WEBER,
Evelyn “Evie”

Formerly of Odessa, WA, entered into God’s arms on September 29, 2012.

She resided at the Guardian Angel Homes in Liberty Lake, WA.

Born to Anna (Franson) and Robert White of Ritzville, WA on May 16, 1930, Evie grew up 12 miles North of Ritzville along Crab Creek at Rocky Ford.

A hard working farm girl, she attended the country school, with her siblings, one half mile from her home until entering Ritzville High School and graduating in 1948.

It was in high school that Evie met her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Weber.

As a teenager, Evie learned to fly her father’s Cessna and was just shy of obtaining her pilot’s license.

Between graduation and marriage, she worked in Ritzville for Dr. Wendall Sweet as a receptionist, chauffer and nurse’s aide.

Evelyn and Bob were married September 15, 1951 at the Zion Congregational Church in Ritzville.

The couple moved to the Creek Ranch, along Crab Creek, a few miles from the Laney Dairy.

While raising their children Jim, Richard and Leslie, they settled into farming; growing wheat and hay along with cattle production.

After the sudden and tragic death of Bob on September 29, 1969, Evie moved her children to a home outside of Odessa and worked as a clerk at the Odessa Drug Store until her retirement.

Evie touched many lives as she had her hand and heart in her community and church; cheerfully volunteering her service - you name it, she was there.

Above all, her family brought her great joy and fulfillment.

Evie could always be found at all of the school and sporting events of her children and grandchildren.

Evie’s loving family members remaining are: son Jim (Gina) Weber, son Richard Weber; daughter Leslie (Steve) Fink; and grandchildren Rob (Shannon) Weber, Erin (Lance) Repp, Drew Fink and Lauren Fink and great-grandchildren McKenna Weber, Easton Weber and Patrick Repp; sister, Vivian Rehn; and brother, Gilbert (Stanna) White; uncle Art Ott; brothers-in-law Pete (Wanda) Weber and Mike (Nancy) Weber; sister-in-law Marjean Weber; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
