Obituary: Smith, Randal Edward

Age 67

SMITH, Randal Edward “Randy”

Randal Edward (Randy) Smith passed away on September 29, 2012 at his home in Bellingham.

He was born March 2, 1945 in Spokane, WA.

Randy was born to the late Corliss M. Smith, Sr. and Mae L. Smith (Bishop).

He is survived by his wife of 15 years Vicki Smith who he described as “the prettiest girl at the gas company.”

Also his brother and sister-in-law Corliss M. Smith, Jr. “Corky” and Cathy Smith (Pompeo), his sister “Ranger” Kristine R. Smith and brother-in-law Bill Eickhoff.

He was previously married to Linda Mary Smith (Anderson) for 14 years with children Kelly Smith, Kendra Clark, and Kristopher (KC) Smith and grandchildren Jordyn Lallas and Emma Lallas.

Randy worked for the family company, Olivine Corporation, for seven years.

He then worked for Cascade Natural Gas Company for 41 years.

He retired from CNG five years ago.

Randy was the master of the machine; with a backhoe by any name or brand it would do his every command.

His greatest sense of accomplishment was to “put a gas line through the middle of someone’s yard so they never know it has been disturbed.

Randy also had a passion for football.

He was the starting quarterback for Olympia High School and played semi-pro football in Bellingham for the Belljets.

Randy’s last “time out” has arrived.

Randy was quiet and wanted “no fuss.”

At his request, no service will be held.
