In brief: Quilt show planned at fairgrounds

SPOKANE VALLEY – The 34th annual Spokane Quilt Show will be at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center, 404 N. Havana St., Oct. 19 through Oct. 21. The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

“Quilt Me A Garden” will feature 700 quilts, quilted clothing and wall hangings. Visitors will have an opportunity to check out free, hourly quilting demonstrations, shop at the merchant mall and quilters’ boutique for hand-crafted items, and see featured quilter Dorie Clark.

Admission is a one-time charge of $8 for all three days. Children 11 and younger are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

Pancake feed to be COPS NW benefit

NORTHWEST – COPS Northwest and Applebee’s, 9634 N. Newport Highway, will have a pancake feed on Oct. 20, from 8 to 10 a.m. The annual C.O.P.S. Northwest fundraiser is the last the neighborhood organization will hold for 2012.

Tickets are $5 per person. Tickets are now on sale and may be purchased at the COPS Northwest COPS Shop, 2215 W. Wellesley Ave., or at the door on the morning of the breakfast.
