Bonners Ferry boys soccer captures district

Steffan Robles found the back of the net in the first half and Noah Price and Evan Moe added goals in the second half to spark the Bonners Ferry Badgers (8-5-1) to a 3-0 victory over the St. Maries Lumberjacks (10-6) in an Idaho 3A District I-II boys soccer match at Lakeland.

Robles delivered in the 33rd minute, Price connected in the 71st minute and Moe came through on a penalty kick in the 77th minute to extend the Badgers’ season with a berth in the 3A state tournament.

Girls

Nikkie Roemer scored on a breakaway in the 77th minute to lift the East Valley Knights (7-6, 6-4) to a 2-1 victory over the visiting Cheney Blackhawks (5-7, 4-5) in Great Northern League action. Chae Brown staked Cheney to a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, before Adrian Turner pulled EV even in the 26th minute. … Brooke Marrow scored four straight second-half goals to propel the visiting Clarkston Bantams (6-5, 5-5) to a 7-2 win over the Deer Park Stags (4-9, 2-7). Deer Park led 2-1 at the half on two goals by Sierra Lewis. … Gail Gallaher and Jenna Sullens scored two goals apiece and Sarah Marro added a goal and an assist to propel the West Valley Eagles (9-3, 7-3) to a 7-0 win over the visiting Colville Indians (1-11, 0-9).
