NIC sweeps CCS in nonconference volleyball match

Yang Yang had 14 kills and Brooklyn Bradbury and Allison Meehan combined for 41 assists as the North Idaho volleyball team swept Community Colleges of Spokane 25-20, 25-15 and 25-20 in a nonconference match Tuesday at Spokane Falls Community College.
Kaitlyn Molloy added 10 kills for the Cardinals (18-3), who had 19 more kills than the Sasquatch (22-7). CCS was led by Sam Buratto’s six kills and Alex Buchholtz’s nine digs. Camille Rounds added 24 assists for the Sasquatch.
Men’s golf
North Idaho had two players finish among the top 10 and the Cardinals took second place at the Warner Pacific Invitational at The Cedars Golf Course in Brush Prairie, Wash.
NIC’s Kyle Delorey finished tied for seventh with a three-round total of 10-over-par 223. Calvin Baty was 10th with a 12-over 225.
The Cardinals finished 12 strokes behind first-place Warner Pacific.
Arena football
Defensive linemen James Ruffin and Chris Tucker each agreed to two-year contracts to play for the Arena Football League’s Spokane Shock.
