Obituary: Jeffers, Emmett Lloyd

JEFFERS, Emmett Lloyd

aka Whitey and Jeff, son of Florence Thiele and Arthur Marion Jeffers passed away on October 7, 2012 with his son-in-law Ron Raschio, grandaughter Justine and beloved friend Mary Jane by his side.

Emmett was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Jeffers Raschio, his sister Dorothy, his brothers Ed and Bob Jeffers and his dog Speckles.

Emmett’s wife of 64 years, Eleen Lietz Jeffers, lives at Park Place Assisted Living.

Emmett is also leaving behind many nieces and nephews who were very special to him.

Emmett was a Spokane native with many ties to his community.

He worked for many years as Olympia truck driver in the Local 690 union.

After retiring and with urging from his brother Bob, Emmett spent six mornings a week at the Donut Parade sharing stories on his three favorite topics: his honorable service in WWII, his hunting years, and his well traveled granddaughter Justine.

Emmett was a product of the Greatest Generation and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

RIP Whitey.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 1:00PM at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

A reception will follow at Heritage Funeral Home.
