Kris passed away Monday, October 15 in Tacoma, WA on vacation after suffering a stroke.

She was born May 21, 1952 to Bernie and Doris Gormley.


She was born and raised
in Spokane, graduating from Rogers High School in 1970.

Kris began working at Northern Quest Casino the day they opened as a waitress in the buffet.

She was employee of the month in 2006.

Kris was also a member of the Washington State Home and Community Educators, and was on the way to the State Convention at the time of her stroke.

She was traveling with two of her sisters and another member.

Kris is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her four siblings: Bev Hamilton, Bobbie (Terry) Lund, John (Joe) Gormley and Billie Goodno: two stepchildren Rick Binder and Brandy Binder; five step-grandchildren Jaden, Chase, Dawson and Courtney Binder and Christopher Finch; one stepgreat-grandson Kennyn Finch; two nieces Sandy Saty and Janice (Reggie) Chambers: six nephews David (Yvonne) Van Gelder, Steve (Sis) Meckel, Thomas Eirls, John (Lori) Eirls, Sean (Marian) Hamilton, and Thomas “Jeff” (Phillis) Dickenson along with several great-nieces and nephews.

Kris also has numerous friends from Northern Quest Casino, both customers and colleagues, and many friends from the Vintage where she resided and from the WSHCE association she belonged to.

Kris was a natural care giver and helped anyone she could.

Her last evaluation remarked “Kris has multiple comment cards from customers saying how wonderful she is.

She is pleasant, professional and makes sure people get what they need.”

Her family would like to give a special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Neuro ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tacoma.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Northern Quest Casino on Thursday, October 25 at 2:00pm in the Kalispell Ballroom in the Hotel.
