MAIN, Norma Lee
(Age 82)

She was born August 27, 1930 in Omak, WA to Henry and Eunice Medford.

She had a broad smile and gentle disposition - traits that dominated her life until her death on October 16, 2012 at Waterford in Spokane surrounded by the family who dearly loved her.

Norma, the Omak High School cheerleader, fell in love with the Omak High football and tennis player, Bill Main.

Norma and Bill attended Eastern Washington University receiving their education degrees prior to marrying on September 16, 1950.

They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year.


Norma and Bill, after a brief career in education, returned to Spokane to raise their three young children.

Unconditional love, wise but kind guidance and a positive can-do approach were the hallmarks of Norma’s life as the loving mentor to her children and grandchildren.

She will be heartbreakingly missed by all who were fortunate enough to experience her wonderful smile.
Norma is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Main; sons Bill Jr. and wife Sarah, Doug and wife Vicky, daughter and best friend Kathy Amistoso; cherished grandchildren and spouses Carrie Redd (Tyler), Kelsea Baltins (Mik), Angie Hagan (Peter), Ryan Main (Lindsey), Chris Amistoso (Jenny), Tara Ray (Mark), Lindsay Kindig (Travis), Lena Leverett-Standal all of Spokane, Courtney Main and Collin Main of Portland, OR, Matt Camel (Carrie) of Washington, D.C. and Jan Silbert (Laura) of Bellevue; great-grandchildren Addy and Cooper Kindig, Brooklyn Main, Railey and Parker Amistoso, Mark and Mia Ray and Asher Redd; brother/sister-in-law Richard and Shirley Main, Reardan, WA, sister-in-law Ebe Medford of San Francisco; several loved nieces, nephews and close friends.

Her brother, Delbert Medford preceded her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Waterford (Touchmark) for the wonderful care given our parents and also Hospice for their guidance and care.

Also a special thanks to family friend Kelly McGinty.


A Funeral Service will be at 1:30PM Friday, October 26, 2012 at Heritage Chapel followed by a private interment at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, 1004 E. 8th Ave., Spokane 99202 or Hospice of Spokane.
