Ford Debuts Economical Sport Truck

Tremor F150
Jim Gorzelany CTW Features
Street truck enthusiasts can now avail themselves of both sporty styling and V8-like performance with frugal fuel economy, thanks to the new-for-2014 Ford F-150 Tremor. This is the first full-size sport pickup to come powered by Ford’s EcoBoost 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine that delivers a lusty 360 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. It’s specially equipped with an electronic locking rear differential and a 4.10-ratio rear axle, which combine to enable quick launches with minimal wheel slippage. Expect the truck to obtain at or about 16/22-mpg city/highway, versus 11/16 mpg in the V8-equipped SVT Raptor sport truck version of the F-150. The Tremor comes in a short wheelbase regular-cab configuration with specific styling cues that include tubular step bars, 20-inch flat black wheels, black leather seating with red stitching and brushed metal interior trim. Standard equipment includes the MyFord Touch multimedia control interface that’s optimized to accommodate motorists wearing work gloves. Pricing should be announced closer to the truck’s introduction later this year.
