Hill’s career effort sparks Idaho men

DAVIS, Calif. – Connor Hill had a career-high 29 points and Glen Dean scored all of his 18 points in the second half as Idaho defeated UC Davis 80-76 Saturday in nonconference men’s basketball.

The Vandals (4-4) erased an early 15-point deficit and climbed within two on a Dean 3-pointer at the 7:59 mark. After a Brynton Lemar layup and three-point play by Igor Nujic, Idaho surged on a 16-2 run.

UC Davis (3-5) cut the deficit to two on two jumpers by Corey Hawkins, but Hawkins couldn’t connect on a potential game-tying jumper with 8 seconds left. Dean sank two late free throws to seal the win. UI’s Stephen Madison added 15 points and 16 rebounds.
