Obituary: Dufner, Patricia Anne

DUFNER, Patricia Anne (Age 82) Patricia Anne (O’Hare) Dufner, a 60 year Wenatchee resident died on November 24th as the result of a stroke suffered two weeks earlier.

Pat was born in Spokane, Washington on October 18th, 1931 to Joseph and Mary Jane (Brophy) O’Hare.

She was the youngest of 11 children.

She graduated from Marycliff High School in 1949.

In 1951, she married Robert Dufner, and moved to Moscow Idaho where she worked as an insurance underwriter to put her husband through college.

She then advanced to her life’s work of being a mother, grandmother and homemaker.

This was a challenge that she dearly loved and excelled at.

In 1953 she began her 60 year Wenatchee residency, when her husband was hired by Alcoa as a process control engineer in their newly built aluminum smelter.

Pat had two sons and two daughters.

She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and St. Damian’s Guild.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughters, Diane and Susan; her son, Daniel; her sister, Lucille and her brother, Larry.

She is also survived by four granddaughters: Danielle, Niki, Caitlin, and Ray and one grandson, Miles.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert; her parents and her brothers: Louis, Clement, Joseph and Thomas, and her sisters: Mary, Bernice, Alice and Florence .

An evening Vigil Service will be held at Telford’s Chapel of the Valley on Wednesday, December 4th at 7 PM.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 5th at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wenatchee.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane following a 1:00 o’clock service at Spokane’s St. Joseph’s Catholic Church In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s School in Wenatchee.
