Girls roundup: West Valley turns back Sandpoint

West Valley built an early 10-point lead and defeated Sandpoint 56-45 in a nonleague game Friday night at West Valley.

Natalie Noble led the Eagles (4-0) with 20 points.

Noble was clutch down the stretch, hitting all eight of her fourth-quarter free throws.

Erin Higbie aided the cause with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Bulldogs (4-5) were led by Hailey Olin, who scored 17 points, and Marayah Delgado, who added 13.

Coeur d’Alene 57, Chiawana 49: Brittany Tackett tallied 16 points, nine rebounds and four steals as the Vikings (7-0) erased a 10-point halftime deficit and beat the Riverhawks in Pasco. Syndey Williams added 18 points and nine boards for Coeur d’Alene.

Lake City 59, Kennewick 36: Whitney Meier had a game-high 22 points as the Timberwolves (5-1) defeated the visiting Lions.

Lewiston 64, Pullman 31: Lynzee Wilson made four 3s and finished with 13 points and Emilee Schlader added 10 as the Bengals (7-0) posted a win over the visiting Greyhounds (0-2). Emily Drake led Pullman with 13 points.

Richland 79, Post Falls 47: Hailey Turner finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds as the Bombers dumped the visiting Trojans (3-4). Sam Reynolds scored nine points for Post Falls.

Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) 58, Deer Park 5: Ashley Cook-Cox scored 16 points and Jocelyn Cook-Cox added 15 as the Eagles (3-0) overwhelmed the Stags (0-4) in Deer Park. DP didn’t score in the second and third quarters.

Odessa-Harrington 56, Soap Lake 35: Casey Schlomer scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Titans (2-1) dominated from the outset in a win over the visiting Eagles. Katie DeWulf added 14 and nine boards, and Lanessa Simon also scored 14 for Odessa-Harrington.

Kettle Falls 54, Inchelium 31: Makala Hall scored 16 points and Kourtney Keenan 13 as the Bulldogs (5-0) topped the visiting Hornets (0-1). Olivia Williams made three 3-pointers on her way to 15 points for Inchelium while teammate Josie Zacherle added 10.

Rosalia 50, Wellpinit 40: Mackenzie Reddish scored 25 points and the visiting Spartans (2-0) topped the Redskins (2-2). Kyra Antone scored 18 points for Wellpinit. Rosalia used an 11-2 third-quarter run to extend its one-point halftime lead.

Wallace 55, Alberton (Mont.) 13: Emily Nelson scored 13 points as the Miners (5-2) dumped the Panthers at the Tiger Tail Tournament in St. Regis, Montana.

Northeast 2B

Northwest Christian 56, Reardan 42: Rachel Bozlee made three 3s and finished with 15 points as the Crusaders (4-0, 1-0) defeated the host Indians (1-3, 0-1) in a rematch of last year’s state title game won by Reardan. Melissa Guske added 10 points for Northwest Christian. Maddie Johnson led Reardan with 19 points and Allora Anderson added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Liberty 33, St. George’s 29: Christine Denny scored 14 points and the Lancers (2-3, 1-0) edged the host Dragons (2-3, 0-1). St. George’s had the lead with 3 minutes remaining when the Liberty’s Aly Tee hit a go-ahead 3-point shot in what proved to be the winner.

Colfax 49, Davenport 30: The Bulldogs (2-1, 1-0) dominated through three quarters and let up in the fourth in a decisive win over the host Gorillas (1-3, 0-1).

Northeast 1B North

Curlew 48, Selkirk 43: The Cougars (2-0, 1-0) staged a fourth-quarter rally to defeat the visiting Rangers (0-3, 0-1) in a league opener for both teams. Curlew trailed by three entering the final period, but three 3-pointers from Haleigh Gibson helped the Cougars pull out the win. Gibson finished with 17 points.

Republic 56, Cusick 47: Savannah Bowe and Shania Graham combined for 31 points as the Tigers (3-0, 1-0) pulled away in the fourth and beat the host Panthers (2-1, 1-1). Sierra McQuay added 11 point for Republic. For Cusick, Malene Andrews had a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Columbia 43, Northport 22: Gabby Singer scored 11 points and added 10 steals to guide the host Lions (2-1, 1-0) past the Mustangs (0-5, 0-2) in Hunters. Asia Kieffer added 14 points and seven steals Columbia. Ashtyn Baribault led Northport with nine points.

Southeast 1B

St. John-Endicott 51, Pomeroy 43: Sophomore Abby Glorfield scored 18 points and added four rebounds and three assists as the Eagles (1-1, 1-0) topped the host Pirates (0-1, 0-1) in a league opener for both teams. Jordyn Lowe and Sierra McCanna combined for 18 points off the bench for the Eagles.

Garfield-Palouse 54, Liberty Christian 33: Chandler Pfaff tallied 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists as the Vikings (2-1) topped the Patriots in Palouse. Bri Brown added 14 points and four assists for Garfield-Palouse.

Tekoa-Oakesdale 62, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 10: Jacey Johnson scored 16 points and Alexa Lindgren added 11 as the Nighthawks (2-0, 1-0) dumped the host Tigercats (0-1, 0-1).
