Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls boys win at tournament

The Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls boys basketball teams scored victories on the first day of the CdA Inn-vitational at North Idaho College on Thursday.

Devin Kluss scored 17 points and Tony Naccarato added 15 as Coeur d’Alene defeated Central Kitsap 61-51.

Joey Naccarato snagged 10 rebounds for Coeur d’Alene after being called up to fill in for injured teammates. Kluss also had nine rebounds and three steals. The Vikings (5-1) built an eight-point lead entering the fourth quarter after being tied at halftime.

A solid defensive outing helped Post Falls dominate Prairie 60-41.

Dalton Thompson led three Trojans (4-3) in double figures with 12 points.

The tournament resumes today with Post Falls playing Central Kitsap at 4:15 and Coeur d’Alene playing Kelowna at 6.

Eisenhower plays Prairie in the today’s opener at 2:30.

Girls basketball

Shayna Allert scored 14 points and Hannah Bodman added 11 points and 11 rebounds as Post Falls outlasted Lapwai in the opening game for both teams at the Archbishop Murphy tournament in Everett.

Allert added six rebounds and five steals and Lexi Smith scored 12 points for the Trojans (6-6), who will play Mountain View, a winner over Clover Park, at 7:30 p.m. today.
