Boom but no blast: Spokane firefighters from Station 2 respond to a north Spokane apartment fire Tuesday. Although witnesses reported hearing a boom before seeing smoke and flames billowing out of a third-floor unit about 9:15 a.m., Spokane firefighters said they found no indications of an explosion. No injuries were reported. Fire investigators remained on the scene at the Houston House apartments in the 600 block of East Houston Avenue most of the afternoon. (Dan Pelle)
