SKW: Election Law Changes Needed
SKW:
I agee that election laws do need updating. I hope Kathy Sims in her quest to update the laws also
changes the petition format to require the time a person signs the petition be added to the petition form and the time be documented when the registration cards are received in the County Elections office. That would eliminate people signing petitions and registration cards at the same time, since the current law requires you to be a registered voter at the time you sign a petition. You are not registered until your registration card is received by the County Elections office not simply filled out in the field. So if a person fills out a registration card at the same time the individual signs a petition, they are not legally a registered voter.
DFO: A hearty Huckleberries Online welcome to Susan Weathers, the fine, former Coeur d’Alene city clerk, who announced in the comments section that she’s now free to comment here as a result of her retirement.
Question: What changes would you like to see in Idaho election law?
