Officials identify victim of Lapwai fight

Associated Press
LAPWAI, Idaho — Officials in Nez Perce County have released the name of a man killed during an altercation on Tuesday afternoon. Coroner Gary Gilliam says the victim was 42-year-old William G. Reich. The Lewiston Tribune reports 37-year-old Raymond Scott Jr. of Lapwai was arrested Tuesday on outstanding warrants and was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated battery and murder in Reich’s death. Formal charges have not been filed. Idaho court records indicate Scott’s criminal history includes convictions for battery and domestic violence dating back to 2000. He also has pending two counts of battery, domestic violence and a third DUI offense. Scott was charged with two counts of aggravated battery in March. Prosecutors say a judge dismissed the charges in April after two witnesses failed to appear for the preliminary hearing.
