The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified both victims in a fatal car crash on West Seven Mile Road on Friday night.

Mikhail Y. Vasyukhnevich, 25, died due to blunt trauma on his head, neck, chest and limbs, according to a news release. Victor Babakov, 20, died due to brain damage.

Vasyukhnevich, Babakov and one other person were traveling near 9500 W. Seven Mile Road when the driver crossed the center line, striking a pickup truck, according to a news release.

Babakov, 20, was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition but later died, according to a release.

The driver, who has not been identified, sustained serious injuries and remains in the hospital.

The three people in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries, according to the release.

The Spokane County Sheriff’s department is still investigating the cause of the accident, but it does not appear impairment was a factor, according to the release.
