With her family by her side, In Wan (Wendy) passed away on May 2, 2013.
In Wan (Wendy) was born in Canton, China to parents Ching Ping Chan and Yu Liu Fang.
She graduated High School in Hong Kong where she grew up with her grandmother Yu To Je and her brother Yui Ming Chan.
She married Sam Fong in 1976 and immigrated to the United States to live in Spokane, Washington where they happily resided together with their three children Michael, Genna, and Joanne in their home of 36 years.
She became a citizen of the U.S. in 1980.
In Wan (Wendy) worked as a seamstress for over 30 years at KL Manufacturing in Spokane and also worked with her husband in the restaurant business for several years.
She was an avid fan of Hong Kong cinema and television dramas and had a love for shared gardening with her husband.
In Wan (Wendy) was a high energy, hard-working woman who always considered her family her greatest joy and achievement.
She was especially proud of her three grown children whom she lovingly raised, along with a special adoration for their family dog, Mocha.
She is survived by her husband Sam Fong, her mother Yu Liu Fang, children Michael, Genna and Joanne, brothers Yui Ming Chan and Jian Min (Jimmy) Haung, sister Tammy Ma, brother-in-law Ken Ma, and sister-in-law Lai Kwan Chan.
She was preceded in death by her father Ching Ping Chan, step-father Zong Cheng Huang, grandmother Yu To Je and grandfather Gin Lew Fong, and much loved family and friends.
We wish to give special thanks to Hospice of Spokane and their staff, for the wonderful care that they provided for In Wan (Wendy).
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with funeral services to follow immediately on the same day beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home on 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
