Cooler, wetter week ahead in Washington

Associated Press
SEATTLE — Forecasters say Washington is in for a change in weather to a cool, wet spell that is expected to last the rest of the week. The National Weather Service forecasts rain across Eastern Washington with the potential for thunderstorms. Highs could reach into the 70s, but the cooler weather is expected into the weekend. In Western Washington, high temperatures will be in the 50s to lower 60s with nighttime lows in the 40s with rain and showers forecast for the lowlands. The snow level in the mountains is dropping to 3,500 feet Tuesday night and Wednesday. That will make driving harder through the higher Cascade passes.
