GU women’s soccer ties record for WCC wins

Karley Baggerly assisted on Heather Johnson’s sixth goal of the season as Gonzaga posted a 1-0 win over visiting San Francisco (6-9-4, 1-5-2) on Thursday, tying the school record for the most wins in a West Coast Conference season.

Christie Tombari made four saves for GU (7-10-1, 3-5-0), which ends its season by hosting eighth-ranked Santa Clara on Saturday.

Volleyball

Madi Kingdon had a match-high 17 kills and tied for the match high with 12 digs as Arizona (17-8, 7-6 Pac-12) swept Washington State 25-18, 25-14, 26-24 at Tucson, Ariz.

Jaicee Harris led the Cougars (16-11, 3-11) with 12 kills.

• Janae Vander Ploeg’s match-high 17 kills led Northern Arizona (17-7, 11-4 Big Sky) to a 25-20, 25-22, 26-24 sweep at Eastern Washington.

Kelsey Julian tied a career high with 16 kills for EWU (8-18, 5-10).

Men’s basketball

Marquis Davis led five players in double figures with 15 points and host North Idaho (2-0) beat Gonzaga’s club team 94-50.

Men’s tennis

Idaho’s Jose Bendeck and Cristobal Ramos Salazar lost to Florida State’s Benjamin Lock and Marco Nunez 8-7 (2) in the round of 16 at the National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at Flushing, N.Y.
