No tax to save base

I cannot believe the justification of a Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) is a reason to increase taxes on the citizens of Spokane County. There is no BRAC currently, and no reason to think a BRAC is in the future.

I will commend the county for trying to be proactive, but I do not agree with raising the taxes of the citizens of Spokane County to save Fairchild Air Force Base. It is not going anywhere because three-quarters of the occupants of the base are the Washington National Guard. Is the National Guard being moved or being threatened to be moved somewhere else?

The citizens of this county and residents of Washington have been taxed enough. I am sure the U.S. Air Force knows where they need airmen stationed better than the county commissioner who wants to tax the citizens even more.
