Obituary: Robinette, Karen Ann

Age 53

ROBINETTE, Karen Ann March 13,1960 - September 21, 2013 Karen Ann Robinette passed away on September 21, 2013 from cancer.

She is survived by her two sons, Nathaniel and Nicholas Coombs as well as her mother, Elsie Robinette, her sister, Janet Allen (Bill), her brother-in-law, Darryl Shaw, her nephew, Ryan Shaw (Nicole), her nieces Melissa Roth (Brandon) and Michaela Allen and grandnieces and nephews Gabrielle and Kian Roth and Steve and Anna Shaw.

Karen was preceded in death by her father Vern Robinette and her sister Linda Shaw.

Born and raised in Spokane Washington, Karen earned her BA from Seattle Pacific University and a MA in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena.

Karen taught at St. Gabriel School (SF) and St. Joseph School (Mtn.

View) but found her calling at Bing Nursery School, Stanford University where she remained until her death.

Karen was a member of the Thomas Merton community at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Palo Alto.

Services in Spokane will be held at the Chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery on 7200 N. Wall, Saturday October 12, 2013 at 1PM.

Memorials may be sent to Bing Nursery School, Woodside Priory School, The Child and Family Institute or The Thomas Merton Center.
