Faldo ready for Champions Tour start at SAS

Golfer Nick Faldo has no expectations for his first regular Champions Tour start this weekend at the SAS Championship (11 a.m., Golf Channel) in Cary, N.C. The 56-year-old six-time major winner says “that’s really what I’m here to find out, how well could I play.” He has been in the broadcast booth since 2006, but decided to play a limited Champions Tour schedule when his competitive side came out at the British Open. He missed the cut at Muirfield. He says he has played just 50 rounds since 2010. And though he wants to be competitive, he said he knows his game has suffered because he’s spent so much time behind a microphone. – AP
