Police seek shooter in non-fatal Hillyard attack

Spokane police responded to a drive-by shooting in Nnorth Spokane on Tuesday night. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A male driver was in a confrontation with a man in the street when the driver stopped near the 2900 block of East Joseph Avenue in the Hillyard neighborhood, Lt. Dean Sprague said. The driver shot the victim and sped off. The victim suffered wounds to his arm and was treated at the scene. The shooting does not appear to be gang-related, Sprague said. Police have not identified a suspect, though Sprague said there is no reason to believe he poses a serious threat to the community.
