LATAH VALLEY – The Latah Valley Presbyterian Church, 202 E. Meadowlane Road, has been certified as an Earth Care Congregation by Presbyterian Church USA’s Environmental Ministries.
This means Latah Valley Presbyterian has pledged to integrate environmental practices and thinking into all aspects of church life.
The goal of the Earth Care Program is to inspire churches to care for the Earth in a holistic manner.

Lilac festival book featured at market
SPOKANE VALLEY – The Spokane Lilac Festival’s newest publication, “Pride, Parades and Princesses,” will be featured at a book market Sunday from noon-4 p.m. at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, 15310 E. Indiana Ave.
Special discount coupons will be available at the Lilac Festival table, and Barnes & Noble will donate part of its sales to the Lilac Festival at the end of the day.

Free tennis play event for children
NORTH SPOKANE – The United States Tennis Association is hosting a free tennis play event for children interested in learning how to play tennis Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at The North Spokane Racquet Club, 8121 N. Division St.
Children now play on smaller courts and with smaller racquets making it more enjoyable for them.
