Wild Card/Monday — 9.9.13
On this day 29 years ago, I began working for the Coeur d’Alene bureau of The Spokesman-Review, at the old office on 4th & Garden (across alley north of Franklin’s Hoagies). At the time, there were five Daves on a 10-man staff at the bureau. So I launched out on my career as D.F. (David Franklin) Oliveria. Which now has evolved into simply DFO here. I’ve enjoyed the wild ride — and am looking forward to my next anniversary when I can say I’ve been here 30 years. Not too many people stay with a newspaper that long. I guess that proves that I like the SR (especially the Coeur d’Alene bureau) and the SR likes me. Now for your first Wild Card of the weekend …
P.S. I’ll be interviewing Coeur d’Alene mayoral candidate Joe Kunka online live this morning at 10:45 a.m.
