Obituary: Olsen, Beulah Henrietta (Rux)

OLSEN, Beulah Henrietta (Rux) (Age 97) Was born 9-24-15 in Rocklyn, WA to pioneer homesteaders, Charles & Julia (Bursch) Rux.

Beulah joined older sisters, Mabel, Aileen & Bessie.

As a girl she rode horse back to the one room school in Rocklyn.

Her sister, Bess, was her teacher one of the years Beulah attended school there.

She graduated from Davenport High School where she met a boy named Bud.

She married Marvin O.

(Bud) Olsen on Christmas day, 1934.

They were married for nearly 65 years.

They farmed 3 miles north of Davenport, WA where they raised wheat and four daughters.

Beulah was active in the Pentecostal Church that her father helped build.

She enjoyed quilting with her sisters, helping her daughters with many 4-H projects, sewing club & growing vegetables and flowers.

Beulah was a warm, soft spoken person who was steadfast in her faith and a prayer warrior for her family and friends.

She is survived by daughter, Melanie Sperry (Lee) Woodinville WA, grandchildren, Randall & Bryan Chrisman, Corynne DeJong & Selena Johnson, great grandchildren Andrew, Ashley & Abee Chrisman, Cohen & Kade DeJong.

Beulah was preceded in death by daughters, Barbara Chrisman (Gordon), Bonnie Schlottman (Len), Brenna Olsen & husband, Bud.

Her memorial service is Sep. 21, 2pm at Harvest Celebration Church, Davenport WA.
