Rock Hard brings 5FDP to Post Falls

Daylong event features seven heavy metal acts

What’s in a name?

Well, when it comes to L.A.-based heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch, it’s everything: You don’t need to listen to a note of their music to know it’s loud, aggressive, in-your-face thrash rock.

And if you’re going to Rock Hard at the Park this weekend, could you ask for anything better than that?

Five Finger Death Punch – or 5FDP, as it’s known to die-hards – is one of seven rock groups taking over the Greyhound Park in Post Falls on Saturday. The band has been on a steady rise since its debut LP in 2007, and 5FDP’s last album, “The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell, Vol. 1,” hit No. 1 on the Billboard hard rock charts.

That record features appearances from Rob Halford, the lead singer of Judas Priest, and rapper Tech N9ne, who collaborates with the band on a cover of LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out.” (Yes, you read that correctly.)

Rock Hard is a daylong event, and also performing are Halestorm, Sevendust, 10 Years, Escape the Fate, Miss May I and Gemini Syndrome.

Try not to bang your head too hard.
