Coug fans: Head out early because of I-90 work
Coug fans headed to Seattle for the game Saturday should be aware that Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass has, um, issues this weekend.
The state Department of Transportation says drivers heading over today or Saturday “should plan ahead for congestion to start building at 11 a.m. and remain steady through 8 p.m.” at Easton, on the east side of the pass.
On Sunday, congestion in the eastbound lanes will start at 8 a.m. and last 12 hours.
The backups could add two more hours of travel time both directions, the DOT says.
What’s the holdup? Work under way to repair a bridge deck means traffic is narrowed to one lane across the bridge.
Washington State University plays Stanford in Seattle at 7 p.m. Saturday.
For those who don’t want to battle traffic, it’s being televised on ESPN.
