Achievements: Area residents graduate from military training

Several area residents have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

• Air National Guard Airman Zachariah Daehn graduated from North Central High School in 2010. He is the son of Tara and Mark Daehn, of Spokane.

• Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Skylar Hansgar is the daughter of J.C. Hansgar, of Spokane Valley. She is a 2004 graduate of West Valley High School.

• Air Force Airman Derick Fisher is the son of Kristine Fisher, of Spokane, and Devin Fisher, of San Antonio. He graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 2013.

• Air Force Airman David Bafaro is a 2006 graduate of North Central High School.

• Air Force Airman Tylor Domino is a 2010 graduate of Ferris High School and the son of Spokane Valley resident Gary Graves.

• Air Force Airman Nathan Mendoza is a 2013 graduate of West Valley High School. He is the son of Yasmin Hughes and stepson of Devin Hughes, of Spokane.

• Air Force Airman 1st Class Cavan Scott graduated from Rogers High School in 2008 and earned an associate degree from Spokane Community College in 2011. He is the son of Crissie Scott, of Spokane.

• Air Force Airman Justin Davidson-Beebe earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Justine Davidson, of Spokane, and Steve Beebe, of Airway Heights. He graduated from Ferris High School in 2008 and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2012 from the University of Washington.

• Air Force Airman Matthew Bitz is the son of Dean and Debbie Bitz, of Cheney. His Flight 320/148 earned the Physical Training Excellence Award. Matthew graduated from Cheney High School in 2013 where he served as Associated Student Body President.

• Air Force Airman Skylar Mackie Meuler earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Sunny August, of Spokane, and is a 2013 graduate of Mead High School.

• Air Force Airman Robert Dean is the son of Spokane residents Wendy and Greg Dean. He graduated from Wasilla High School in Wasilla, Alaska in 2012.

• Navy fireman Jacob Heglin has completed boot camp at the Naval Station Great Lakes in Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2013 graduate of Mead High School. Jacob is the son of David Heglin, of Spokane, and Lisa Walker, of Colbert. He is attending Naval Nuclear Power School in Goose Creek, S.C.
