Obituary: Hastings, George David

HASTINGS, George David George David Hastings, a 43 year resident of Colville, WA passed away on April 18, 2014, surrounded by family while at his Colville home.

George was born on December 14, 1931, the son of George Willard and Lucille Ella (Davis) Hastings.

George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Laura M. (Haverinen) Hastings; four daughters, Cathy Ayers, Shelbyville, IN, Janet Nelson, Moses Lake, WA, Nancy Sliman, Colville, WA, Patty McLean, Moses Lake, WA; five sons, Ben Hastings, Spokane, WA, Gary Hastings, Marty Hastings, Dan Hastings and Ron Hastings, all of Colville, WA; sister, Faythe Pearson, Milton, WA, Cheryl Edwards, Alaska; brothers, Bob Hastings, Olympia, WA, Jim Hastings, Cinebar, WA and John Hastings; twenty seven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandy Ayars.

A graveside service for Mr. George David Hastings will begin at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Mountain View Park Cemetery, Colville, WA.

A memorial gathering and potluck will follow at the Arden Community Hall.
