Obituary: Smith, Naomi R.

Age 96

SMITH, Naomi R. (Age 96) Passed away Monday, April 14, 2014.

She was born on August 24, 1917 in Higginsville, Missouri to William and Laura Brandow Arbuckle.

Naomi was the youngest of seven children and lost both her parents when she was 15.

In 1937, Naomi married Thomas J. Ledford in Oklahoma City and had two children, Tom and Frank.

Her husband Thomas passed away in 1941.

In 1945, Naomi married Lloyd “Smitty” Smith of Bremerton, WA.

In1950, the family moved to Spokane where they made their lifetime home.

Naomi had a strong, deep love and loyalty to her family and friends.

She was a past member of North Hill Christian Church and the Ladies Oriental Shrine.

Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, “Smitty” (1988); as well as, her son Frank Smith (2012), and her six siblings.

She is survived by her son, Tom (Sue) Millersmith and grandchildren: Jeff, Tony, Andy, Derek, Shawna, Tisha, Selina, Luanna, Tabitha and JR, numerous great-and great-great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Viewing will be tomorrow, Monday from 9-5 pm at the funeral home.

Services will be Tuesday, April 22 at 1:00 pm at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. Division with Fr.

Tom Connolly officiating.

Entombment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery.
