Obituary: Newbill, Evelyn Mae

NEWBILL, Evelyn Mae (Age 89) Of Spokane, WA, passed away April 14, 2014.

She was the daughter of Roy and Bertha Selder of Hunters, WA and graduated from Hunters High School in 1943.

She married Everett “Eb” Newbill three years later and had two children, Charmaine and Patrick.

Evelyn and “Eb” lived in Colville and Spokane while raising their family and then later moved to Plummer, ID, where “Eb” worked in the lumber industry until his death in 2003.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Charmaine Nokes and Larry of Deer Lake; and son, Patrick Newbill and Sara of Cheney, WA.

She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Jodi Schreiner of Spokane, Jon Newbill and Kate of Spokane, Ben Newbill and Breanna of Fairview, OR, Julie Neely and Ben of Dayton, OH, and Tim Newbill and Rachel of Cypress, TX.

She also had nine great-grandchildren: Natalie and Matthew Schreiner, Kaia, Hallie, and Reece Newbill, and Nora, Laila, Jake and Emily Neely.

Evelyn was one of six children and is also survived by her brother, George Selder and Deanna of Long Lake; sister, Mildred Hansen of Chewelah; three nieces, Sharon Selder of Port Townsend, Sheila Selder and Jeannie Ayers; three nephews, Rusty Selder of Loon Lake, Fred Neumann and Mackie of Worley, ID, their sons John and Michael, and John Neumann and Marian of Camas, WA, their son Ed and daughter Erika.

Evelyn was a homemaker most of her life.

Her grandchildren especially loved her pies.

She was very artistic and enjoyed oil painting and crocheting.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge and adored her puppy “Mello-Dee”.

A celebration of her life is being held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home at 11:00AM.
