Boys basketball: Cody Peplinki’s 22 points leads Dragons’ win

Cody Peplinski hit six 3-pointers and finished with 22 points as St. George’s jumped ahead early and eased past host Colville 69-44 in a nonleauge season-opener on Tuesday night.

Felix Tsai added 20 points and Issac Werkman chipped in 14 for the Dragons, who led by 22 at the half.

Colville was led by Chase Sandaine and Chris Benson, who combined for 21 points.

Pullman 50, Moscow 33: Jake Cillay had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Micah Lagerquist added 11 points as the Greyhounds beat the host Bears. Jack Akey had 19 points and seven rebounds for Moscow.

East Valley 84, Timberlake 38: Tanner Jacobs hit four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points and five assists as the Knights routed the visiting Tigers. EV made 12 3-pointers in all and forced 21 turnovers. DeVonte Gorman and Mike Jensen each added 15 points for the Knights. Jensen also came away with five steals. Dalton Jones tallied a team-high 12 points for Timberlake.

Springdale 65, Chewelah 51: John Lynch scored 21 points and Chandler Carr added 16 as the Chargers pulled away late and beat the visiting Cougars. Springdale made 10 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter. Joey Shamberger led Chewelah with 16 points.

Inchelium 56, Northport 46: Quentin Holford had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists and the Hornets surged ahead in the second quarter and held on late to beat the visiting Mustangs. Northport’s Vithor Martin tallied a game-high 23 points.

Garfield-Palouse 59, Dayton 19: Tyler Thurman had 20 points and eight steals and Matt Holbrook added 14 points as the Vikings routed the host Bulldogs. Garfield-Palouse forced 23 turnovers and outscored Dayton 20-2 in the first quarter.

St. John-Endicott 54, Tekoa-Rosalia 35: Robert Staples scored 16 points and Adam Blakely added eight as the Eagles topped the Timberwolves in St. John.
