Obituary: Gering, Joan N. Vehrs

GERING, Joan N. Vehrs Went to meet the Lord on December 1, 2014, shortly after her 85th birthday.

Joan spent her retirement with her husband Martin, whom she married on March 10, 2001, fishing and traveling, including the National Rodeo in Las Vegas.

She was very active in her church and played the organ.

She was also a doting grandmother and great- grandmother.

Joan was beloved by her family and friends and had a smile that could light up the room.

Prior to her retirement, she had a long work history including Bell Telephone and Farmers Supply Company.

She retired from Ritzville Warehouse after 23 years.

Joan was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Geschke and daughter Terry R. Jirava and seven siblings.

She is survived by her husband Martin Gering, her son Robert Geschke (Denise)-Ritzville; son-in-law Wayne Jirava-Ritzville; her granddaughters Michelle L. Jirava (Kurt)-Spokane; Robyn Stevens (Cory)-Spokane and Christina Lagrou (Sam)-Spokane; grandsons Ronald Jirava-Ritzville; Alan Jirava-Midland, Texas; Tracy Jirava-Ritzville; her step-sons Ron Gering (Karen), Bruce Gering (Patti)-Moses Lake, WA; and Brian Gering (Gail) - Liberty Lake, WA; and her great-grandchildren Cassandra Johnson and Hunter Johnson.

Services will be held Saturday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church in Ritzville, to be followed by a reception at the Nazarene Church.

Burial will be at Ritzville Memorial Cemetery.
