Felon nabbed after Liberty Lake break-in

A man facing dozens of criminal charges was arrested Nov. 25 after a woman woke up to find him in her home.

Liberty Lake police assisted the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office with a call in the 4300 block of North Harvard Road at 7:30 a.m. that day. A woman told police that she woke up after hearing a loud noise and found a man she didn’t know standing in her hallway, said police Chief Brian Asmus.

The man fled, but the woman was able to describe him and his car. The door of her home had been kicked in, and her car had also been broken into, Asmus said.

The man, identified as 44-year-old Charles W. Miller, was arrested later that day in Spokane Valley. He is being held in the Spokane County Jail on $55,000 bond and is facing 28 criminal charges for this incident and others, including multiple charges of theft, identity theft, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and vehicle prowling.

Miller is a convicted felon whose criminal history includes convictions for possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of stolen property, theft, forgery and identity theft.
