Obituary: Mckay, Sharon R. “Bambi”

McKAY, Sharon R. “Bambi” 6/7/56 ~ 12/3/14 Sharon R. (Hayman) McKay “Bambi” passed away on December 3rd, 2014 surrounded by her loved ones.

She was a devoted and loving wife, a wonderful mother, and a much beloved grandmother.

Bambi was born in Wallace, Idaho in June of 1956.

As a youth, Bambi, together with her brothers Rich, and Mike, and father Don Hayman avidly enjoyed motorcycle and snowmobile racing, and downhill skiing.

She was a remarkable woman, a United States Marine until retirement.

While in the service Bambi traveled, lived and worked on both coasts and overseas.

She met her husband of 38 years, Ernie McKay during her first tour of duty.

Bambi was a talented crafter, gardener, and quilter and was named the chairman of the Silver Valley Arts and Crafts Association Craft Fair for nine consecutive years.

Her love of the outdoors and motor vehicles continued right to the end.

She loved riding with her husband, family, and friends in their side by side in the hills surrounding their Osburn home.

Bambi was most well known for her loving ways, and was embraced by all who met her.

She is survived by her husband Keith “Ernie,” her two sons, Kristopher and Kyle, two daughters-in-law, Angela and Lorissa, and her four grandchildren, Justin, Carter, Alyssa, and Cate.

A gathering of remembrance for family and friends will be held at 1400, December 20, 2014 at the Wallace Elks in Wallace Idaho.
