Torture a shame on America

We Americans have now been found guilty of inflicting unbelievable agony, sometimes fatal, upon fellow human beings, and those persons responsible for the torture are claiming that it was successful. Are they really saying that if torture succeeds in obtaining information, it’s OK? Deliberate, despicable cruelty to human beings is now accepted practice in the United States of America?

Whether it was successful can’t be proven and isn’t important. Torture is torture, not “enhanced interrogation,” and inflicts massive inexcusable pain and suffering on fellow humans.

Our country once led the world: the model of everything good, true and beautiful; the envy of all. To what level of diabolic shame and degradation have we once justly proud Americans descended?
