Man plows into two cars shortly after leaving liquor store

A man who crashed into two other cars less than two blocks after leaving a West Central Spokane liquor store has been charged with vehicular assault. Three witnesses to the Dec. 27 crash told police they saw Chad R. Kline buy alcohol and leave the store at North Ash St. & West Nora Ave around 10 p.m. All said he appeared to be very intoxicated. According to court documents, Kline then drove east on Nora Ave. and allegedly ran a stop sign at Maple St., hitting two northbound vehicles. An occupant of one of those vehicles fractured his hip and sprained his left ankle in the collision. Officers said Kline had watery, bloodshot eyes and swayed when standing. He was arrested for vehicular assault and released from jail Monday night after posting bond.
