Obituary: Franzen, Carol Elaine
Age 83
Will be back soon to pick you up”…Jesus And on January 14, 2014, He took Carol to her new place in Heaven.
Carol Elaine Franzen was born in Seattle, WA on December 8, 1930 to Arthur and Annette Johnson.
She attended Lincoln High School in Seattle where she met Robert F. (Bob) Franzen.
They later married and the loving union lasted more than sixty-five years.
In addition to her husband, Bob, Carol is survived by their daughters, Linda Hardy and Cheryl (Larry) Watts; and sons, Gary and Jeffrey (Erica) Franzen.
Carol leaves nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Carol served as secretary to Senior Pastor Dr. David Dilworth at Bellevue First Presbyterian Church during the 1970’s.
She later was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad as an Employee Assistance Counselor, and retired in 1991.
Carol and Bob moved to Spokane in 1995 where they joined Fourth Memorial Church.
Carol became active in the women’s ministry and in the church choir.
She has many friends at Fourth Memorial Church and enjoyed fellowship with them until her illness rendered her bedridden during her last several years.
A memorial service for Carol will be held at Fourth Memorial Church, 2000 N. Standard St., in Spokane, WA 99207, Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00pm with Dr. Keith Krell presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carol Franzen’s name to Fourth Memorial Church, or Union Gospel Mission, 1224 E. Trent Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.
