Campaign launched to repair Seattle’s Pergola

The 12th Man has chipped in more than $16,000 to pay for repairs to the glass broken by people who climbed on the Pergola in Seattle’s Pioneer Square while celebrating the Seahawks’ Super Bowl victory. Organizers of the campaign originally had set a $15,000 goal, but donations, many coming in at $12, surpassed the mark by Tuesday afternoon. The Seattle Parks Department had estimates repairs will be around $20,000 to fix 20 panes on the century-old ornate glass archway. Spokeswoman Joelle Hammerstad says they are working with the Seattle Parks Foundation and Alliance for Pioneer Square. – AP
