Man killed in hit and run on Mission Avenue

Spokane Police are asking for the public’s help in their investigation of a fatal hit-and-run collision Sunday night near the corner of Mission Avenue and South Riverton Drive. A witness told police a man was struck by a gold or tan “Jeep” SUV as he was crossing Mission around 8:45 p.m., according to a news release. The witness also said several other vehicles struck the man in the roadway. The SUV drove off without stopping, and police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or knows about the driver to call them. The identity of the man will be released following an autopsy scheduled for today, according to the news release. Those with tips are asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
